Operations Manager Job Summary:

Flynn Brothers Contracting is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asphalt Superintendent to oversee and manage asphalt paving operations on construction projects. This position is responsible for ensuring that projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in asphalt paving, crew leadership, and construction project coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily field operations for asphalt paving projects.
• Supervise asphalt crews and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and quality work.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other site superintendents to ensure project requirements are met.
• Monitor schedules, budgets, and work progress to keep projects on track.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies, environmental regulations, and company standards.
• Conduct daily safety meetings and enforce proper safety protocols.
• Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and blueprints.
• Order and schedule delivery of materials and equipment.
• Maintain accurate project documentation including materials, daily logs, reports (incidents or accidents), and approving timesheets.
• Troubleshoot issues that may arise in the field and adjust plans as needed.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in asphalt paving and Commercial & Highway construction supervision with electronics and readability requirements
• Strong knowledge of asphalt materials, processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with paving equipment, materials, reporting tools (e.g., Microsoft Office, HeavyJobs, etc.).
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• OSHA certification (preferred).

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Will be required to travel to various job sites as needed.
• May involve long hours, night work, and weekends depending on project schedules.
