In this energetic position, you will operate heavy machinery to efficiently remove and prepare existing asphalt surfaces for paving. Your expertise will help ensure smooth, durable roads that stand the test of time. Duties Operate asphalt milling machines and other heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and dump trucks to remove existing pavement efficiently. Prepare the worksite by setting up safety barriers, inspecting equipment, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed. Support paving crews by managing material flow, including concrete mixing, pumping, and finishing as needed. Conduct routine maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are maintained. Collaborate with team members to coordinate site activities, ensuring projects stay on schedule and within safety guidelines. Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage, and safety inspections throughout each shift. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy construction equipment such as asphalt milling machines, excavators, loaders, or dump trucks. Knowledge of construction site safety procedures and ability to adhere strictly to safety regulations. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on machinery. Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or equivalent for operating commercial vehicles is preferred. Prior experience working on paving projects or in roadway construction is highly desirable. Strong physical stamina with the ability to stand, lift heavy materials, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
