ROLE OVERVIEW
This is a seasonal position, you can use your winters off to travel, hunt, fish or for other activities you enjoy while your benefits continue year round . This position is responsible to safely supervise, and coordinate activities of workers engaged in our asphalt paving and efficiently run the operation to produce quality material in a timely manner. Travel required throughout our ND operation. Will need to display a professional and courteous attitude with customers and team members.
DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES
(summary of components that make up the job) Perform daily equipment inspections, walk-arounds, and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained and repaired. Coordinate the daily activities of the asphalt crew. Communicate paving crew needs with dispatch and to the plant. Ensure all equipment is properly set up, operated, and maintained. Monitor the quality of material being produced and ensure it meets required specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues, coordinating repairs or adjustments when necessary. Prepare and submit daily production reports and safety logs. Conduct regular safety meetings and equipment checks to promote a safe work environment. Maintain inventory of materials and supplies needed for paving operation. Communicate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, inspectors, subcontractors, and other team members. Operate paving equipment such as paving machine, roller, etc as needed to support operations. Measure slope and thickness of paving to verify compliance with contract. Measure distances from reference points to locate boundaries of construction site. Coach and monitor team members and sites to comply with OSHA and safety regulations and assist in training new employees. Approve and submit work hours of personnel and pertinent job information daily. Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety, and environmental regulations. Always work safely and take action to prevent any and all unsafe actions, processes, and behaviors. Perform other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITITES
(types and extent of knowledge, skills or abilities an incumbent must possess to complete the job responsibilities satisfactorily) Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Able to work independently and under time constraints.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
(minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements) Minimum 5 years experience in product line Ability to hold and maintain proper licensure and acceptable driving record. Ability to work flexible shifts, including overtime, possible nights and some Saturdays.
