Job Description:

As an Asphalt Screed Operator, you will play a crucial role in our asphalt paving operations. Your primary responsibility will be to operate the screed on our paving machine to ensure a smooth, level, and consistent asphalt surface. You will work closely with other crew members to achieve optimal results and meet project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate the screed on the asphalt paving machine to lay asphalt to the desired width and depth. Monitor the temperature and flow of asphalt to ensure a uniform surface. Adjust screed settings to achieve specified grades and slopes. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the screed and paving machine. Work collaboratively with the paving crew to ensure efficient and quality work. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe work environment. Communicate effectively with the project manager and other crew members.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as an Asphalt Screed Operator. Thorough understanding of asphalt paving techniques and materials. Ability to read and interpret project plans and specifications. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work in various weather conditions and adapt to a flexible schedule. Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift heavy equipment and materials (up to 50 lbs). Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling. Capability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment.
