Moate Industries is seeking an experienced Grinder Operator with a strong background in asphalt milling and surface preparation. The ideal candidate is a self-directed operator with a proven ability to run grinding equipment, maintain production pace, and deliver clean, accurate results in a fast-paced environment. You must bring demonstrated experience running a grinder/milling machine, understanding grade and depth control, and working efficiently with a crew. Job Responsibilities Equipment Operation & Production Operate asphalt grinding/milling machines to remove pavement to specified depth and grade Maintain consistent production while ensuring accuracy and surface quality Control machine settings to meet project specifications Coordinate with crew to maintain workflow and jobsite efficiency Jobsite Execution Perform site prep and milling operations for paving and repair projects Follow project plans, layout, and specifications Work closely with truck drivers and ground crew during operations Adjust operations based on jobsite conditions and requirements Equipment Maintenance Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance Identify and report mechanical issues early Keep equipment clean, functional, and job-ready Safety & Compliance Follow all safety protocols and procedures Ensure safe operation of equipment at all times Maintain awareness of crew, surroundings, and jobsite hazards Job Requirements Minimum 2-5 years of experience operating asphalt grinding/milling equipment Strong understanding of grade, slope, and depth control Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently without constant supervision Experience in asphalt paving or heavy civil construction preferred Valid driver's license (CDL preferred) Preferred Traits Strong attention to detail and precision High level of accountability and ownership Ability to work in a fast-paced, production-driven environment Team-oriented with strong communication skills Willingness to work extended hours when needed Compensation & Benefits $32.00 - $36.00 per hour (depending on experience) Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan options Paid time off Why Join A.C.
