Job Summary:
Pavement Maintenance, LLC is seeking a hands-on Asphalt Paving Superintendent to lead field operations and drive production across paving and pavement maintenance projects.

This role is based out of our Vancouver (Ridgefield area) location and requires travel to job sites throughout the Portland metro and Southwest Washington region.
Key Responsibilities:
Field Operations and Crew Leadership Lead and manage asphalt paving crews on a daily basis Direct foremen, operators, laborers, and subcontractors to meet production goals Set the pace of work and ensure efficient crew performance Coordinate trucking, plant production, and equipment Mentor and develop crew members and build an accountable team culture Production and Execution Execute daily work plans to meet production, schedule, and quality targets Monitor tons placed, yields, crew efficiency, and material usage in real time Adjust operations to stay on track and maximize productivity Ensure proper laydown, compaction, and finishing techniques Drive performance to meet or exceed daily production goals and timelines Quality Control Ensure all work meets internal QA/QC standards, DOT requirements, and project specifications Identify and correct issues in the field before they impact production Maintain consistent, high-quality workmanship Safety Enforce company safety policies and OSHA compliance Lead daily tailgate safety meetings Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and proactively mitigate risks Identify hazards and address risks in real time Coordination Work with project managers on scheduling, logistics, and execution Communicate daily production updates, challenges, and job status Coordinate with inspectors, suppliers, and subcontractors Work Environment Full-time, field-based position Monday through Friday with occasional nights and weekends during peak season Outdoor work in varying weather conditions Frequent standing, walking, and movement on active job sites Ability to lift 25'50 lbs as needed Compensation and Benefits Salary range: $100,000 ' $115,000 annually, depending on experience Medical insurance with 100% employer-paid employee premiums Dental and vision insurance Company-paid life insurance 401(k) with employer match Flexible paid time off Ongoing training and development opportunities Pavement Maintenance, LLC is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on any protected status under federal, state, or local law. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in asphalt paving or heavy civil construction Proven experience leading paving crews as a superintendent, foreman, or similar role Strong knowledge of paving operations, including grade, drainage, compaction, and Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) processes Ability to read and interpret plans and project specifications (Bluebeam experience preferred) Strong leadership and communication skills in a field environment Ability to problem-solve quickly, make real-time decisions, and maintain production with minimal oversight Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites
