Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and experienced Skilled Asphalt Labor to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will play a vital part in the preparation, paving, and finishing of asphalt surfaces for various infrastructure projects. Your expertise in operating heavy equipment and understanding of construction site procedures will ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality results. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects while honing your skills in asphalt paving and heavy equipment operation. Duties Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, and dump trucks to prepare and level surfaces for paving. Assist with asphalt paving operations, including spreading, compaction, and finishing to meet project specifications. Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving activities begin. Support site preparation by clearing debris, grading terrain, and ensuring proper drainage. Maintain safety standards by adhering to OSHA regulations and using appropriate personal protective equipment at all times. Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment use and ensure smooth workflow across the construction site. Perform routine maintenance checks on heavy equipment such as Caterpillar machinery to ensure optimal performance. Qualifications Proven experience operating heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks in a construction or paving environment. Strong knowledge of asphalt paving processes and construction site safety protocols. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and utility maps accurately. Familiarity with utility locating techniques and tools is preferred. Prior experience working with Caterpillar equipment is a plus. Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions efficiently. Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions.
