Asphalt Roadway Technician

We are seeking an experienced Asphalt Roadway Technician with active certification to join our growing team. This is a field-based role supporting pavement quality control, earthwork and materials testing, and inspections on commercial and residential development projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform QC/QA testing and inspection of asphalt mixtures and paving operations;
• Conduct field and plant sampling — density, gradation, extraction, Marshall testing;
• Earthwork monitoring and density testing, general material testing, document test results;
• Prepare daily reports, and maintain accurate field records;
• Communicate effectively with contractors, project engineers, and SCDOT inspectors;
• Identify non-conforming materials and promptly communicate issues.

Requirements:

• Asphalt Technician certification — required at time of hire
• Minimum 1 year of experience in asphalt materials testing or pavement inspection
• Ability to work outdoors in variable conditions and extended hours during active paving operations
• Valid driver's license and good driving record and ability to provide reliable transportation
• A strong work ethic, good communication skills, commitment to safety and quality standards
• ACI, NICET, or nuclear gauge operator certifications a plus Salary commensurate with experience Application Question(s): Do you have an active Asphalt Technician certification?
