South Dakota , Rapid City Job Description Asphalt Paving Superintendent Lead the work. Set the pace. Deliver quality that lasts. A highly respected Black Hills area paving contractor is seeking an experienced Asphalt Paving Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations on asphalt paving projects. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who knows how to run crews, manage schedules, and deliver safe, high-quality paving work from start to finish. What You'll Do Oversee all aspects of asphalt paving operations, including grading, base, paving, and striping Lead, schedule, and manage paving crews to ensure productivity, quality, and safety Coordinate equipment, materials, trucking, and subcontractors to keep projects moving efficiently Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements Monitor daily production, job costs, and schedules; adjust plans as needed to meet deadlines Communicate with project managers, inspectors, owners, and suppliers Conduct daily jobsite safety meetings and enforce company safety policies Troubleshoot field issues and proactively resolve challenges What We're Looking For 5+ years of experience supervising asphalt paving operations Strong knowledge of asphalt paving methods, materials, and equipment Proven ability to lead crews and maintain high production standards Solid understanding of grading, compaction, and paving specifications Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to read plans and coordinate work accordingly Willingness to work extended hours during peak paving season Why This Opportunity Join a stable, well-respected contractor with a strong backlog of work Competitive compensation based on experience Benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, PTO, and company vehicle or allowance (if applicable) Leadership role with autonomy and decision-making authority Long-term career growth with a company that values field leadership If you're a results-driven asphalt professional who takes pride in running safe, efficient, and high-quality paving operations, we want to hear from you.
