Job Summary:

TheMotor Grader / Dozer

• Operator will lead a crew in performing all phases of earthwork, grading, excavation, and site utilities.

This position requires hands-on leadership, operating heavy equipment, and ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plans and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and work alongside a 4-6 person crew performing excavation, grading, and trenching operations. Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes . Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, excavators, motor graders, skid steers, and compactors . Establish and maintain proper grade and drainage using GPS, lasers, and manual checks. Coordinate daily activities with the Superintendent and Project Manager. Ensure all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and schedules. Communicate needs for materials, equipment, and trucking in advance. Maintain accurate daily reports and job logs . Conduct safety meetings and ensure crew compliance with OSHA and company standards. Assist with layout, trenching, backfilling, and utility installation (storm, sewer, water, fire lines).

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in site work, excavation, or underground utilities. Minimum 2 years of experience as a Foreman or Lead Operator . Proficient in operating heavy machinery and reading construction drawings. Knowledge of grading, compaction, and soil conditions . Ability to perform manual labor as needed. Strong communication and leadership skills. Valid driver's license (CDL preferred but not required). Must be reliable, safety-oriented, and drug-free . Must be willing to travel out of town for weeks at a time
