Paving Crew Member

Bizzack Construction is an established, busy, & local Southwest Virginia company.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Ability to maintain, inspect, and clean equipment. Work well with a team Communicates with co-workers, customers, and the public in a respectful manner. Highly motivated and a positive attitude. Willingness to learn and follow all safety policies and requirements. Strong work ethic and physical ability to lift and carry 50lbs Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least eight hours per day. Employees must be able to stand for extended periods of time. Work closely with other crew members using hand signals to coordinate work and ensure safety. Ability to work 40+ hours per week with minimal absences. Special preference will be given to applicants that have experience operating heavy machinery.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. The work environment periodically exposes the employees to high levels of noise, grease, and dust that are typically associated with a construction project. Employees regularly work near heavy equipment and moving machinery. Work may involve a variety of substances commonly found on construction sites such as oil, grease, curing compounds, gasoline, diesel fuel, asphalt hot mix, and asphalt emulsions.

ASPHALT

PAVING CREW

Experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. Anything and everything associated with large scale asphalt paving of roadways. From unloading/loading of equipment, shoveling, luting, saw cutting, directing trucks, traffic control, layout, tacking, and carrying equipment and materials to cleaning and maintaining asphalt paving equipment and tools. Maintains orderliness, cleanliness, and safety at the job site.

Pay:

$17.50 per hour
