Duties Assist with the preparation and layout of asphalt paving projects, ensuring proper site setup and safety protocols. Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to move materials efficiently. Support asphalt paving activities by spreading and leveling asphalt using appropriate tools and machinery. Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving begins, preventing damage and ensuring safety. Maintain a clean and organized work site by removing debris, securing tools, and following safety procedures diligently. Collaborate with team members to load dump trucks, operate graders, and perform other construction tasks as needed. Follow all safety guidelines while working with heavy machinery like Caterpillar equipment to ensure a safe environment for everyone on site. Qualifications Prior experience working on construction sites or in paving projects is highly preferred. Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, dump trucks, and front loader trucks. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks outdoors in various weather conditions. Basic understanding of utility locating techniques and safety procedures related to underground utilities. Strong teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards learning new skills in heavy equipment operation and paving. Valid experience or certification in operating Caterpillar machinery is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided. Construction site experience demonstrating knowledge of safety standards and efficient workflow practices.
