Job Description

Position Summary:
The Boiler Technician is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of boiler systems and related equipment. This role ensures all systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Position Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor boiler systems to ensure proper pressure, temperature, and performance levels Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on boilers, valves, pumps, and associated equipment Diagnose mechanical issues and implement corrective actions in a timely manner Maintain accurate logs of boiler operations, maintenance activities, and safety checks Ensure compliance with all safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies Conduct water testing and chemical treatment processes to maintain system efficiency Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance needs Collaborate with maintenance team members and production staff to minimize downtime Assist with installation and commissioning of new boiler systems or upgrades Maintain a clean and organized work area
Essential Skills and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred Prior experience operating and maintaining industrial boiler systems Knowledge of mechanical systems, controls, and safety procedures Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and gauges Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Boiler operator license or certification (if required by state/local regulations)
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Work in confined spaces and at elevated heights as needed Manual dexterity to operate tools and equipment Ability to tolerate exposure to heat, steam, and varying noise levels Industrial manufacturing environment Exposure to high temperatures, steam, and mechanical equipment May require working nights, weekends, or on-call shifts Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection
