This will be accomplished through design, fabrication, testing and maintenance of heat exchangers and related process equipment. Metalforms was recently acquired by the TransTech Group, a leading provider of custom-engineered and fabricated solutions for liquids and gas processing, storage, transfer, and utilization across a broad range of industries including energy, petrochemical, specialty chemical, renewables, biofuels, and a variety of industrial process industries.
Job Summary:
Boilermaker/Fitters must read blueprints, cut/thread/weld pipes, and perform hydrostatic tests to ensure leak-proof, code-compliant systems. The role requires strong safety awareness, mechanical skill, and the ability to work in confined spaces or at heights.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
Layout & Fabrication:
Reading isometric drawings and blueprints to plan piping installations, cutting, threading, and bending pipes to exact specifications.
Installation:
Assembling, installing, and securing complex pipe systems, valves, and hangers in industrial, high-pressure environments.
Welding & Joining:
Utilizing MIG, TIG, or Stick welding, as well as specialized techniques for gas pipelines.
Maintenance & Repair:
Troubleshooting, maintaining, and replacing worn or damaged piping systems.
Testing:
Conducting pressure and leak tests to verify the integrity of the piping system.
Safety Compliance:
Adhering strictly to industry safety standards (PPE, OSHA) in hazardous environments. Competencies Blueprint reading Knowledge of tape measure and standard measurements Ability to perform degree finding Ability to divide circumference of welds Knowledge of overhead cranes and hand signals Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills in safe rigging practices Must be able to adhere to standards and perform a quality job in a safe manner within an acceptable time. Physical requirements include Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting, and reaching, standing for long periods of time, lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. May be required to work at heights up to 25 feet.
