Job Description

The Maintenance Pipeline Mechanical Technician or Boilermaker is responsible for the preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and diagnosis of piping systems and equipment on the pipelines and in the tank farms. The technician is required to safely perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities to other facility assets such as but not limited to: tanks, piping, expansion joints, pressure relief devices, valves, vessels, filters, pumps, motors, fittings, etc. The technician is also responsible for installing, inspecting, testing, maintaining, and repairing valves and pipelines.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with other team members to establish and maintain, repair, and construct equipment. Performs administrative duties associated with the position and assigned schedules to ensure that work is completed in a safe and timely manner. Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled. Inspect and audit equipment usage and checklists periodically for issues. Generate parts requisitions for repairs. Corrects equipment deficiencies with proper diagnosing techniques. Provides input on preventing inadvertent equipment breakdowns. Removal of parts, major assemblies, sub-assemblies, and components. Work system, such as rotating, fixed, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Complete valve manufacturing, valve maintenance, and valve replacement. Use pneumatic and hand tools to assemble new and refurbished parts, such as valves. Test high-pressure safety relief valves with precision and being very aware of the processes. Maintains equipment records by annotating services and repairs on work orders. Must participate in all Safety and Health Training requirements as scheduled. A willingness to further experience by supervisor training. Assists in other areas of business as needed. Attends and participates in all daily, weekly/monthly toolbox meetings, safety meetings and/or standdowns.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age. High school diploma or GED is required. 5+ years of experience in Pipeline maintenance preferred. Must have the ability to work on multiple fronts simultaneously. Specialized training and certifications that must be completed and maintained, including Operator Qualifications (OQs). Demonstrated ability to independently establish priorities. Must be able to read and interpret parts manuals, drawings, diagrams, and schematics. Common knowledge of Lock Out Tag Out, Safety Data Sheets and Computerized Maintenance management Systems. Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC card. Must possess and maintain a valid US driver's license. Must pass all pre-employment testing including a drug test, physical and background check.
Physical Demands:
Entering, exiting, and operating equipment. Ability to work at elevated heights, including using lifts, ladders, and stairs. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Work is done outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. Must be able to perform work wearing personal protective equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Position Details:
Shift work - must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays. Will be on an On-Call rotational schedule. Non-Exempt position.
