As a Lead Mason, you will be responsible for guiding a team of skilled laborors, ensuring safety standards are met, and delivering exceptional craftsmanship in all masonry-related tasks. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex projects, from new builds to restoration and renovation work, utilizing your expertise in concrete, brick, stone, and other masonry materials. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining project timelines, quality standards, and fostering a collaborative work environment. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate masonry crews on construction sites, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project specifications. Perform and supervise tasks such as concrete forming, rebar installation, tile laying, stucco application, and plastering with precision and attention to detail. Read blueprints and schematics accurately to interpret project requirements and execute plans effectively. Operate hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment, and welding equipment safely to complete masonry tasks. Oversee construction estimating activities related to masonry scope of work, ensuring accurate material take-offs and resource planning. Ensure proper installation of metal stud framing, trim carpentry, roofing components, and caulking as needed for comprehensive project completion. Maintain safety protocols on-site by enforcing proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to OSHA standards. Conduct quality inspections of completed work such as concrete finishing, tile laying, stucco application, and restoration efforts. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to ensure design specifications are met or exceeded. Qualifications Proven experience in construction with a strong focus on masonry projects; previous leadership experience is highly preferred. Extensive knowledge of concrete forming techniques, rebar installation, masonry materials, and finishing methods. Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and technical drawings related to construction projects. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation (such as forklifts or cranes), welding equipment, and other construction machinery. Familiarity with building codes related to masonry work including stucco, plastering, metal stud framing, tile laying, roofing systems, and restoration processes. Ability to estimate material quantities accurately for construction estimating purposes. Strong communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively while maintaining safety standards on-site. Valid certifications in OSHA safety standards; additional certifications in welding or heavy equipment operation are advantageous.
