In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring structures using brick, stone, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials. Your expertise will contribute to building durable, aesthetically pleasing structures that meet project specifications and safety standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new construction to renovation and restoration efforts, utilizing your mastery of masonry techniques and tools. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute masonry projects. Lay bricks, blocks, stone, and other materials with precision using hand tools and power tools. Mix and apply mortar or concrete to secure materials in place while ensuring proper alignment and levelness. Install rebar reinforcement and perform concrete forming to strengthen structures and foundations. Execute finishing tasks such as plastering, stucco application, caulking, and tile laying to achieve smooth surfaces. Operate heavy equipment safely for tasks like excavation or lifting heavy materials on construction sites. Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, electricians, and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project completion. Skills Proficiency in concrete forming, rebar installation, and metal stud framing techniques. Strong knowledge of masonry work including bricklaying, stonework, and tile laying. Experience with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and renovation projects. Skilled in the use of hand tools (trowels, chisels) and power tools (drills, saws). Ability to operate heavy equipment safely on construction sites. Familiarity with plastering, stucco application, caulking, trim carpentry, roofing, welding, and restoration work. Understanding of construction estimating processes and safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
