Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Masonry Instructor to join our team. The SCTC Masonry program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills in the laying and/or setting of exterior brick, concrete block, hard tile, marble and related materials using trowels, levels, hammers, chisels and other hand tools. Includes instruction in technical mathematics, blueprint reading, structural masonry, decorative masonry, foundations, reinforcement, mortar preparations, cutting and finishing, and applicable codes and standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry, at least four years of wage-earning experience as a mason, and a desire to educate and inspire future professionals in the masonry industry. Duties
  • Educate students on a variety of machining techniques
  • Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in both classroom and practical settings
  • Provide hands-on training and demonstrations to enhance student learning
  • Evaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements to ensure students receive up-to-date education Requirements Applicants must have at least four years of overall experience in the Masonry industry and possess or be willing to obtain a vocational teaching certification.
The following certificates are valid for teaching in this program: Career and Technical/Instructional 2600 Brick Masonry 2056 Masonry 2054 Masonry/Bricklaying 2045 Additional Requirements Applicants must be able to obtain Act 34, 151, and 114 clearances upon hiring.
