We do work our crew is proud of, and we're looking for a Lead Carpenter who holds that same standard. This is a working lead role. You'll be on the tools every day and responsible for the performance of a small crew of 2-4 carpenters across 1-2 active job sites. You assign the work, oversee execution, keep the team focused and on schedule, and communicate directly with the GC. You don't wait to be told what to do next — you already know. What You'll Do Work on the tools daily alongside your crew — this is a hands-on role, not a desk job Oversee carpentry operations across 1-2 active residential job sites Assign daily tasks to a team of 2-4 carpenters based on scope, schedule, and skill level Read and interpret architectural plans, structural drawings, and finish specifications to direct work accurately Hold your crew accountable for quality, focus, and on-time execution — the standard doesn't slip Communicate proactively with the GC on job status, sequencing, material needs, and any issues Identify problems before they become delays and bring solutions, not just problems Maintain a safe, organized, professional job site at all times Represent the company with professionalism in client homes and with neighboring properties
What We're Looking For Required:
10+ years of carpentry experience in residential construction, with at least 3+ years in a lead or supervisory role Experience on high-end residential or custom home projects where finish quality is paramount Strong ability to read and interpret full construction plan sets — architectural, structural, and finish details Experience assigning and overseeing work for a crew of carpenters Proven track record of holding a team accountable for quality and schedule Self-motivated — you don't need to be managed, you manage Own tools Reliable transportation to San Francisco job sites Valid CA driver's license
Preferred:
Bilingual English/Spanish Familiarity with SF building department and permit inspection process What We Offer $45-$55/hr depending on experience.
