JOB SUMMARY
The Carpenter is responsible for on-site execution of all assigned tasks. Through daily coordination with the Carpenter Foreman and/or Superintendent, the carpenter will track and complete tasks in order to facilitate the needs of the project team and schedule. They will assist the project team in the field to maintain layout control as well as JHL's safety and quality programs. The Carpenter will be a key player in training and instructing JHL apprentice carpenters and laborers for efficient and quality work in addition to the development of skills. He/she will have direct authority over on-site JHL craft in the absence of a foreman. The Carpenter will coordinate with the Carpenter Foreman and/or Superintendent on prioritization of craft task, and on all decisions related to or direction regarding subcontractors.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Core Duties /
Responsibilities:
Build temporary structures for office units, plan tables, install shelves, setup tool trailers and/or conex's as directed. Hand-set forms and/or assemble and set gang forms Assist journeyman and foreman with the shooting of grades and elevations The unloading, handling, stockpiling, staging of all materials Concrete and rough carpentry Handset Walls Footings Gang Wall Forms Structural Concrete Decks In wall and roof blocking Finish Carpentry, including doors, frames, and hardware Place and finish concrete Basic plan reading All team members are expected to demonstrate the following characteristics: Cooperate and coordinate with others when in a team environment Accept direction from supervisors Follow company rules and procedures Punctual and consistent attendance Detail oriented Must be able to operate tools and equipment: table saw, skil saw, belt & disc sanders, drill presses, fall protection, rigging and form systems Strong teamwork orientation Positive attitude and professional customer service skills Must own basic tools required of a carpenter to include, tool belt, basic hand tools, and cordless tools. Experience/ Training:
Preferred:
High School Diploma / GED 3 years' experience Successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program OSHA 10 Knowledge / Skills /
Abilities:
Knowledge of basic tools and equipment Knowledge of concrete formwork systems

FIELD % of Work Time Must have the ability to remain in a standing or kneeling position.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / TRAVEL
FIELD:
Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather: rain, heat, and loud noises. Up to 10%, and/or daily travel as business requires during scheduled work hours.
