Job Description

Job Title:
Bridge Carpenter Location:
Naples, FL/ Southwest FL Position Summary:
The Bridge Carpenter assists in the construction, installation, and repair of formwork and structural components used in bridge and roadway construction projects. This position works under the direction of a Foreman or Supervisor and is suited for individuals with basic carpentry skills who are continuing to build their experience in heavy civil construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in building and setting forms for concrete structures including bridges, footings, columns, caps, decks, walls, and curbs Measure, cut, and assemble wood and other materials according to project specifications Erect and dismantle formwork, falsework, and temporary structures Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently Support concrete placement and finishing operations as directed Maintain a clean and organized job site Follow instructions from supervisors and work collaboratively with crew members Comply with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations Participate in daily safety meetings and job briefings
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED preferred Carpentry and construction experience Basic knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and methods Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic math calculations Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team Reliable and consistent attendance
Skills & Abilities:
Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods Basic understanding of construction safety practices Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude Familiarity with: Bridge deck overhang brackets and screed systems Stay-in-place forms and forming hardware Epoxy-coated rebar protection practices Basic rigging and signaling experience preferred Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Work Environment:
Outdoor construction sites including bridges, roadways, and highway projects Exposure to heavy equipment, noise, dust, heights, and changing weather conditions Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Advancement Opportunities:
Opportunities for advancement into roles such as Lead Bridge Carpenter or Carpenter Foreman based on performance, skill development, and experience.
