Job Description

Our contracting business services both commercial and residential properties, including historical sites. We specialize in remodels, repairs, and custom construction solutions, with a commitment to solving unique challenges for clients while maintaining high standards of quality and craftsmanship. We value innovative thinkers who prioritize solutions over problems and take pride in their work. We are seeking a skilled and motivated carpenter who is ready to dive into a variety of challenging projects. This role is ideal for someone with a blend of technical carpentry expertise, creative problem-solving abilities, and a passion for working on unique and sometimes historically significant properties. You'll tackle a range of projects, from standard remodels to complex repairs where previous work has been incorrectly installed. Flexibility, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to challenges are essential.
Responsibilities:
Perform high-quality carpentry and framing work for remodels, renovations, and repairs on both residential and commercial properties. Assess existing structural issues and develop practical, innovative solutions, especially for previous erroneous repairs or deferred maintenance. Contribute expertise to projects on historical properties, respecting and preserving original structural integrity. Communicate effectively with team members and clients, focusing on solution-oriented discussions. Ensure all work meets or exceeds safety and building code standards. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to complete projects on time and within budget. Required qualifications 5+ years experience in carpentry, framing, or a related field, with experience in residential, commercial, or historical restoration projects or some combination thereof.
Problem-solving:
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve construction challenges with creative, critical thinking. Strong skills in speaking in terms of solutions, not problems, and able to relay ideas clearly and constructively.
Adaptability:
Willingness to handle a variety of tasks, from routine remodels to complex repairs, and comfortable adapting to unexpected challenges.
Craftsmanship:
High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Ability to lift heavy materials, operate tools, and work in various indoor and outdoor conditions. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical specifications. If you're a solution-oriented carpenter/framer ready to bring your expertise to a range of challenging and rewarding projects, we'd love to hear from you! Please submit your resume and a brief summary of a project that required creative problem-solving skills.
