Job Description

Construction Laborer - Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings $20-$22/hour (based on experience)
Location:
Cedar Rapids, IA We are seeking motivated Construction Laborers to join our team in Cedar Rapids , working on pre-engineered metal building projects . This is a hands-on role supporting experienced tradespeople on active new construction sites, including current and upcoming build-outs near the airport and on 6th Street. Job Responsibilities Assist with erecting metal posts and studs Attach sheet metal using power drills and hand tools Install insulation and perform interior drywall work Move materials, tools, and supplies around the job site Operate scissor lifts and other equipment as needed Support skilled tradespeople to keep projects moving efficiently Follow all safety procedures and job site guidelines
Note:
Some sheet metal materials can weigh up to 100 lbs , and this role requires strong Essential Skills Minimum 6 months of construction experience. Valid driver's license. Ability to lift at least 75 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday. Ability to work from a lift at heights of 20 feet or more. Experience with general labor tasks in a construction environment. Ability to safely use power tools, including power drills. Ability to safely use basic hand tools. Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and building materials. Experience with general construction activities such as framing, concrete, or carpentry. Reliability and strong work ethic in a physically demanding role. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with sheet metal in a construction or fabrication setting. Background in carpentry or structural framing. Exposure to concrete work or general construction trades. Comfort working as part of a small team on active construction sites. Strong attention to safety and willingness to follow instructions from experienced tradespeople. Why work here? Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Occasional longer days as needed A couple of Saturdays per month

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
