Lead Carpenter — Custom Homes | Astin Homes Astin Homes is hiring an experienced Lead Carpenter to run our custom residential builds in the Rexburg, Idaho Falls, and Teton Valley areas. This is not an entry-level role — we're looking for someone who can show up, read a set of plans, and run the day without being babysat. What you'll actually do: Run the job site day-to-day: layout, framing, sheathing, exterior trim, interior finish Coordinate with subs (we use JobTread, so scheduling and updates are organized) Maintain quality standards on custom homes — this isn't tract work Communicate directly with the owner on progress, issues, and solutions Train and oversee 1-2 carpenters under you What we're looking for: 5+ years of carpentry experience, with at least 2 running a crew or job site Strong framing AND finish skills (we don't separate the two) Comfortable reading plans and doing your own layout Reliable truck, basic hand tools, valid driver's license Someone who takes pride in the work and doesn't need to be chased What we offer: $28-32/hr based on experience (top end for the right person) Year-round work — we stay busy through winter Tool allowance and gas reimbursement for travel between sites Direct relationship with the owner — no corporate layers, no politics Quality projects you'll be proud to put your name on To apply: Send a quick text or call (208) 715-7717 with your name and a few projects you've led.
