Millwork Frame carpentry Full Job Description Carpenter - Custom Residential The Company We are a small, high-end custom residential construction firm working on complex, detail-driven projects in Chicago. Our work demands real craftsmanship — we are not a production shop. We're growing and looking for a skilled carpenter to grow with us. The Position This is a part-time role to start — 2 to 3 days per week — with a clear and fast path to full-time for the right person. Think of it as a mutual audition. You'll work directly alongside our Director of Construction, a highly experienced tradesman and superintendent with deep knowledge across all phases of residential construction. The projects are interesting, the standards are high, and the work is the kind that skilled carpenters actually want to do.
The Work Rough carpentry:
framing, structural work, site preparation Finish carpentry: trim, doors, millwork, detail work Work across all phases of high-end residential renovation and construction Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site Essential Skills and Experience Demonstrated carpentry experience — rough, finish, or both Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality. These are essential. Ability to work independently and take direction from a lead High standards for your own work Preferred Experience in high-end residential construction or renovation Familiarity with historic homes and the challenges they present OSHA 10 certification
