Carpenter- Full-Time- $24/Hr

Overview:

Participate in the repair and maintenance of park rides and facilities using standard carpentry andconstruction methods.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Work as part of assigned crew performing rough and finish carpentry work and facility repairsPerform daily, weekly, monthly inspections, and routine preventative maintenance as well as annual rehab/rebuild on wooden roller coasters involving workat extreme heights and angles, and working in a fall protection harnessInterpret and follow written work orders and/or verbal instructionsin order tocomplete assignmentsTroubleshoot repairs and construction problems todeterminebest work methodMake a variety of repairs including repairs to buildings, roofs, fences, gates, walls, flooring, doors, stairs, carpet, fixtures, etc.

Fabricate new facilities and items as assigned including shelves, framing, enclosures, fences, ramps, stairs, storage units, cabinets, etc.; make proper measurements anddeterminematerials to be used; fabricate items to work order specificationsInstall carpet,vinylandtileflooring materialsDig ditches, rake, remove and install gravel, etc.

Adhere to all departmental and company safety policies; wearappropriate safetyequipment asrequiredReport any work order problems to the SupervisorAssistin other Maintenance and Construction trades as neededOther duties as requested

Qualifications:

QualificationsShouldpossessa thorough operational understanding of carpentry procedures and methods as well as a working knowledge of building codesMustpossessa working knowledge of the safe use of hand and power tools and large power equipment including table saw, drill press, band saw, etc.

Mustpossessavalid driver's licenseas defined by Six Flags policyMust be able to follow oral and written instructionsMust be able to read blueprints and interpret rough layouts or sketches, mustpossessbasic math skillsMust be able to work both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, able to work varied schedules to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as required by the operational needs of theParkMustpossessthe mental and physical capacities necessary to safely perform the job duties; must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, kneel, squat, twist, push and pull and lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.; must be able to reach overheadMust be able to safely perform work functions at heightsin excess of100ftFamiliarity with CNC router programing and operation a plus
