We're looking for a Layout Carpenter to join our field team. This role is responsible for interpreting construction plans and accurately transferring points and measurements to the jobsite utilizing a robotic total station, established grid lines, or control points. They are responsible for coordinating with field personnel, site supervision, surveyors, management personnel, and other trades to coordinate construction activities to ensure all elements are structural, flatwork, and site concrete elements are installed accurately according to project plans and specifications. This person is also responsible for recording as-builts and quality control of all embedded items. This individual should also be capable of building and installing formwork. What You'll Do Read and interpret construction drawings, CAD files, site plans, and project specifications Measure and mark layout lines for foundations, walls, floors, and structures Set elevations, grades, and benchmarks using eye levels, lasers, GPS, Transit, Total station, Etc. Ensure alignment, spacing, and accuracy of all layout work Work closely with surveyors, project managers, superintendents, project engineers, and field personnel to coordinate construction activities Inspect and adjust formwork and layout before, during, and after concrete pours Maintain tools, equipment, and a safe work environment Construct and install concrete formwork (Symons, Gang Forms, and wood frame) Layout and Construct anchor bolt templates Layout and install embedded items (anchor bolts and Weld plates) What You Bring Construction or survey experience is required Membership in the Carpenters Union or willingness to join. Strong proficiency with construction drawings and specifications Proficiency with measuring tools and techniques Knowledge of mathematics, geometry, and calculations required to perform layout functions Experience with laying out and installing structural concrete, flatwork, and site concrete (Grading and utility work is a plus) Familiarity with utilizing RT Data collectors and Leica TS16 robotic total stations Familiarity with other surveying equipment, layout software, or design software OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety Certification Apprenticeship or vocational training in Carpentry or closely related trade Knowledge of Carlson Site Civil Software Knowledge of .DXF and .DWG Files Proficiency with Bluebeam software Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions Physical strength and stamina to perform the requirements of the position Attention to detail and precision Good communication and teamwork skills Work Environment Outdoor Construction Sites Exposure to noise, dust, heavy equipment Position will require work at heights exceeding 20' at times Position will require climbing ladders, stairs, or scaffolding at times May require early mornings, overtime, or weekend work Why You'll Love Working Here At I-Solutions, you'll be part of a team that values integrity, safety, and innovation.
