Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Attic Access & Storage Installer for a residential project in Frederick, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for installing an attic scissor ladder and building out a functional attic storage platform. This is a focused, hands-on carpentry position ideal for someone with strong framing and finish carpentry experience who can work efficiently in tight residential spaces. Duties Install a Fakro LST Insulated Steel Scissor Attic Ladder (22.5" x 31.5") in an existing ceiling opening located in a narrow hallway Perform minor framing modifications to existing attic opening (approximately ½" width adjustment) Build and install a joist/subfloor system to support 144 SF of attic storage decking Cut, lay, and fasten OSB decking panels to create a safe, level storage platform Install access walkway from ladder landing to storage platform Install trim around attic opening for clean finished appearance Test ladder for smooth, safe operation upon completion Ensure all work complies with manufacturer specifications and residential building standards Clean up work area upon project completion Experience Proven residential carpentry and framing experience Experience installing attic ladders or pull-down stair systems preferred Ability to work in confined attic spaces safely and efficiently Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and fastening systems Ability to read and follow manufacturer installation specifications Strong attention to detail in finish carpentry and trim work Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting in tight spaces Familiarity with OSB/subfloor installation techniques Needs to be completed by June 26th!
