Do you thrive in an environment where "close enough" is never enough? At Rochman Design Build , we are looking for a Staff Carpenter to join our award-winning production team. In the design-build world, you are the bridge between a beautiful 3D model and a homeowner's reality. You will work on high-end residential remodels—from historic West Side renovations to modern additions—ensuring that the craftsmanship matches the visionary design our clients expect.
Key Responsibilities Carpentry:
Execute both rough and finish carpentry with a high degree of accuracy. Some knowledge of framing, decks and finish carpentry, competent and confident in the safe use of saws, power tools and nail guns.
Blueprint Literacy:
Basic understanding of blueprints and the ability to learn as needed to perform tasks.
Site Management:
Maintain a "Rochman-level" clean and organized job site. We work in people's homes; respecting their space and safety is our top priority.
Collaboration:
Work closely with our Project Managers to meet tight schedules and high-performance building standards.
Problem Solving:
Proactively identify potential site issues and work with the PM to find solutions that don't compromise aesthetics or structural integrity.
Skills & Requirements Experience:
3+ years of professional carpentry experience, preferably in residential construction. The "Rochman Touch": A deep passion for high-end finishes and an eye for the small details (e.g., aligning crown molding shadows on uneven ceilings).
Tech Savvy:
Comfortable using email, time tracking software, taking pictures and navigating construction management software.
Tools:
Basic hard tools and a cordless drill.
Logistics:
Valid driver's license and capable of transporting tools/minor materials.
Communication:
Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to speak up when needed and articulate site issues to Lead or PM. Why Join Rochman Design Build?
