Job Description

We're a local remodeler hiring a skilled Lead Carpenter who takes pride in quality work and wants to lead well-run residential projects. In this role, you'll manage day-to-day job site activities, perform hands-on carpentry, and guide projects from start to finish. You'll have ownership of your work, with support and direction from a team that values clear communication and planning. Responsibilities:
Perform daily hands-on interior & exterior carpentry work, including framing, trim, cabinetry, and installation Lead by example on-site, working alongside crew members to complete projects Manage and execute residential remodeling projects from start to finish Read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications Coordinate day-to-day job site activities while staying actively involved in the work Supervise and support crew members and trade partners as needed Interact professionally with homeowners throughout the project Maintain project schedules and help keep work on track through active participation Communicate regularly with the project manager and office team Ensure all work meets company quality standards and client expectations Troubleshoot and solve problems in real time on-site Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site Assist with material planning, pickups, and organization on-site Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety standards
Qualifications:
3+ years of residential carpentry or remodeling experience Strong, rough, and/or finish carpentry skills Ability to work hands-on while helping lead job site activities Ability to read basic plans Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail Team-oriented with strong communication skills Some leadership experience or ability to guide others on-site Reliable, punctual, and professional Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to perform physical work and lift up to 50+ lbs Basic understanding of job site safety About Company Nelson Builders is a family-owned company that has been in business since 2001.
