Job Description

Job Title:
Framer Job Description This role focuses on metal and wood stud framing for commercial and residential construction projects. You will read and interpret blueprints, accurately measure and cut building materials, and complete framing and related tasks both indoors and outdoors. The position requires consistent physical work, safe operation of power tools, and effective collaboration with a crew while traveling to various job sites as needed. Responsibilities Perform metal and wood stud framing for commercial and residential building projects. Read and interpret project construction blueprints to complete framing and related tasks accurately. Accurately measure, mark, and cut building materials using tape measures, hand tools, and power tools. Operate various power tools and construction equipment safely and efficiently. Complete rough carpentry and framing work, including preparation for drywall and finish work as needed. Follow established safety rules and regulations at all times, including participation in safety and OSHA-related training. Lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs as part of daily tasks. Work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions while maintaining attention to detail and quality. Collaborate with crew members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule and to specification. Participate in orientation activities, including safety training, OSHA training presentations, and knowledge checks. Use basic hand tools and maintain any personal tools required for daily work, while also using tools provided on site. Travel with the crew or meet directly at job sites as assigned. Maintain professional conduct on site, including refraining from phone use during working hours except during breaks. Demonstrate reliability by consistently reporting to work five days per week and working the full scheduled shift. Essential Skills Proven experience with metal and wood stud framing. Experience in commercial and/or residential building construction. Ability to read and interpret project construction blueprints. Strong carpentry and framing skills, including rough carpentry. Proficiency using tape measures, hand tools, and power tools. Mechanical aptitude and general construction labor experience. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work. Reliable attendance five days a week. Good work ethic and strong attention to detail. Ability to work well with others in a team environment. Capability to follow safety rules, OSHA guidelines, and company procedures. Valid driver's license. Work authorization. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with commercial construction environments. Exposure to drywall and finish work. General labor experience on construction sites. Ability to work without personal phone use during working hours, except during breaks. Willingness to travel with a crew or meet directly at job sites. Strong communication skills and the ability to take direction from supervisors. Why Work Here? You will work on tasks such as drywall and framing, often on building exteriors as well as interiors. The environment involves regular use of tape measures, hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment, with some tools provided on your first day and an expectation that you bring basic personal tools. Safety is a core focus, with orientation that includes safety training, You may travel with a crew from a central location or drive directly to job sites, depending on project needs. The work is physically demanding and hands-on, requiring frequent lifting, bending, and standing throughout the day. Personal phone use is limited to break times to maintain focus and safety on the job. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madelia, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
