From designing custom cabinetry to structural framing and specialized masonry, your craftsmanship will be visible in every corner of our district. Role Summary The Carpenter is responsible for the professional construction, repair, and maintenance of district structures and fixtures. Reporting to the Director of Operations/Maintenance, you will handle everything from blueprints and cost estimation to hands-on framing, roofing, and fine finishing. You are a critical part of our facilities team, ensuring that classrooms, offices, and athletic spaces remain in top condition year-round. Why You'll Succeed (Qualifications)The Proven Craftsman:
Minimum of three (3) years of professional carpentry experience required.Certified Specialist:
Participation in or certification from a Carpenter's Joint Apprenticeship Program is highly preferred.Educationally Prepared:
High school diploma or equivalent required.Technical Mastery:
Skilled in reading blueprints, sketching project drawings, and performing a wide range of repairs (drywall, masonry, roofing, and flooring).Versatile Skills:
Ability to perform welding (Arc, MIG, TIG) and install specialized hardware, windows, and doors.Safety & Resilience:
Ability to work safely from ladders, scaffolding, and in confined spaces.Driving Record:
Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record to operate district vehicles. Your Impact (Key Duties)Structural Excellence:
Build and renovate classroom and office walls, ensuring all aspects of construction—from framing to drywall—meet high standards.Custom Fabrication:
Design and construct high-quality cabinetry, tables, counters, and specialized furniture for school use.System Maintenance:
Install and repair suspended ceilings, various flooring types (vinyl, ceramic, carpet), and window treatments.Envelope Protection:
Maintain the "shell" of our buildings by repairing siding, guttering, and multiple roofing types (EPDM, slate, built-up).Project Stewardship:
Estimate materials and costs for upcoming projects, order necessary parts, and prepare sketches for required permits.Seasonal Readiness:
Join the team in snow and ice removal using district trucks and equipment to ensure campuses are safe for Monday morning. Your Leadership PartnersPrimary Support:
