About the Role Garcia Construction specializes in restoring and remodeling historic properties to revitalize our neighborhood. We're expanding our service division, which focuses on residential-scale projects. We are seeking a skilled tradesperson with experience in a range of handyman trades, particularly carpentry. In this role, you'll always be doing something different, from small repairs and builds to highly technical historic renovations. Strong candidates will demonstrate flexibility, problem-solving, professionalism, strong client and team communication, and a high standard of craftsmanship. Essential Duties Work independently or with a small team on residential projects of all types, from full home renovations to smaller scope projects such as repair or construction of decks, stairs, garages, etc. Perform construction duties with limited oversight: painting, light plumbing/electrical, drywall, tile, rough and finish carpentry, doors and windows, trim, cabinetry installation, etc. Restore historic structures using period-appropriate methods Use our company's technology tools to communicate, track time, document work orders, etc. Maintain a clean, safe work environment Qualifications 7+ years in carpentry, remodeling, construction, or other relevant trades Clear communication skills in person, calling, texting, and phone apps to discuss project details, track time, work orders, etc. Ability to maintain a clean, safe work environment in accordance with company and OSHA safety standards Ability to safely navigate job sites which may include indoor and outdoor spaces, varying temperature, stairs, uneven surfaces, and conditions not yet compliant with ADA standards Ability to stand, walk, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated spaces as required by the job Ability to safely operate hand and power tools Ability to lift 75 lbs and carry the tools and materials necessary to perform assigned tasks Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, clean driving record Able to pass a background check and drug screening Willing to obtain OSHA 10 Certification (company supported) What We Offer Competitive pay and benefits package Steady, year-round work with PTO and paid holidays Office support for scheduling and job coordination Small geographic radius of project sites Specialty and power tools provided (you provide basic hand tools)
