Job Title:
Carpenter Job Description This role involves performing a wide range of carpentry and general construction tasks on both commercial and residential projects. You will construct, install, and repair structures such as walls, doors, windows, cabinets, and siding while working from blueprints and project specifications. The position requires regular use of hand and power tools, precise measuring and cutting of materials, and safe lifting and handling of building components up to 50 pounds. Responsibilities Perform carpentry work on commercial and residential construction projects, including framing and finish carpentry. Construct, install, and repair walls, doors, and windows according to project requirements. Measure and cut wood, siding, and other materials to accurate dimensions using measuring tapes and appropriate tools. Hang drywall and install exterior and interior siding in line with project specifications. Read and interpret blueprints and use them to guide construction tasks and layout. Install cabinets and other built-in structures and fixtures within buildings. Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete daily tasks. Assist with general construction duties as needed to support the project team. Lift, carry, and position materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on the job site. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and follow all site safety guidelines. Essential Skills At least 1 year of carpentry experience in construction settings. Proficiency in basic and advanced carpentry tasks, including framing and finish carpentry. Ability to read, understand, and use measuring tapes accurately. Capability to read and interpret blueprints and apply them to construction tasks. Experience working with drywall, including hanging and finishing. Ability to lift and handle up to 50 pounds throughout the workday. Competent use of common hand and power tools used in construction and carpentry. Reliable work ethic with the ability to follow instructions and work safely on active job sites. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in both commercial and residential construction environments. Experience in framing, finish carpentry, and general construction support. Familiarity with installing siding, cabinets, and other structural and finish components. Comfort working from blueprints and project plans with attention to detail and accuracy. Why Work Here? You will regularly use standard construction equipment, including hand tools, power tools, and measuring devices, while adhering to site safety practices and wearing appropriate work attire suitable for outdoor construction environments. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billings, MT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
