Job Description
Since its incorporation in 2003, Cooper Tacia General Contracting has evolved from residential construction and renovation in Sanford, NC to large-scale manufacturing, office buildings, government and education facilities, restaurant & retail spaces, apartment complexes, and airport construction throughout the southeast United States. Cooper Tacia General is actively seeking experienced, skilled carpenters to join our growing team and support ongoing commercial projects. The carpenter is responsible for performing a variety of skilled tasks related to the layout, construction, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures on commercial construction projects. This role involves reading blueprints, ensuring work meets quality and safety standards, and collaborating with site teams to deliver projects efficiently and on schedule. Responsibilities:
Construct, install and repair structures such as wood and metal framing, doors/hardware, restroom partitions and accessories, etc. Complete punchlist and warranty work Read and interpret project plans, blueprints and specifications to determine dimensions, materials and installation procedures Properly measure, cut and assemble materials using hand tools, power tools and construction equipment Ensure work meets all company quality standards and complies with applicable building codes Collaborate with superintendents, foremen and other trades to coordinate work and resolve site issues Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area; adhere to company safety policies and OSHA regulationsRequirements:
3-5 years of Construction Experience (Commercial a plus) 3-5 years of Experience as skilled tradesman (Carpentry/Drywall) Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction materials Hands-on experience in working with construction materials High attention to detail and quality of work Ability to read and follow blueprints Professional appearance and positive attitude Driver's License/Clean Driving Record Willing to travel out of town for short periods of time if neededSimilar remote jobs
