docx Information for Applicants 2024.docx Trainee Joiner (Fixed Term) Job description The City of Lincoln Council have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Joiner to join our team. You will be part of the Housing Repairs Service (HRS) based at Hamilton House, who are responsible for repairing and maintaining 7,800 properties throughout Lincoln. We pride ourselves on providing quality housing and repairs for our tenants. We are looking for friendly and approachable candidates who underpin our core values to provide excellent customer care to the residents of Lincoln. We work on a grading approach depending on experience with opportunities for further training and development. The role will be full time (37hrs per week Mon-Fri) and fixed term for 12 months. Standby and overtime opportunities are also available, in addition to flexible working options in which core hours and work patterns will be discussed at interview. Candidates must have a full driving licence.
Key responsibilities:
  • Carry out all installations, repairs and maintenance work required by the authority and all other joinery duties. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
  • Ability to problem solve to achieve an effective right first-time repair.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with staff, managers and customers.
  • Ability to make decisions on how to carry out an effective repair or renew.
  • Experience of being responsible for business vehicles and equipment.
  • Ability to work at heights, outdoors and in all weathers.
  • NVQ 2 in Joinery or time served apprenticeship or proven experience.
