Handyman/Carpenter

Summary:

The ideal candidate for the Handyman/Carpenter position will possess a broad range of hands-on maintenance and repair skills that are necessary to effectively maintain a portfolio of several commercial and some residential properties. This candidate will have experience in performing unit turnover repairs/refreshes, addressing tenant maintenance requests, and tending to the physical assets of various property types. Duties and Responsibilities Perform general interior and exterior building repairs, cleaning, and maintenance as required including but not limited to drywall, finishing, painting, trim, suspended ceiling, appliances, mechanicals, and other handyman-type duties. Assist in white box fit ups for vacant retail/commercial spaces available for prospective or incoming tenants. Perform preventative maintenance including changing HVAC filters. Adhere to safety and hazard policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment. Maintain a clean and meticulous work environment with attention to detail. Visibly inspect and report any existing or potential maintenance concerns. Other duties as assigned by the property management team. Required Qualifications High school diploma/GED and a minimum of five years of experience in hands-on property maintenance and/or mechanical repair Valid NJ Driver's License without suspensions for moving violations or other infractions and a reliable truck or van. Willing and able to lift 50+ pounds as needed. Willing and able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions. Willing and able to safely utilize ladders and work on roofs as needed. Must possess commonly used hand and power tools. Reliable work van is a plus but not required. Availability to work a 40-Hour workweek. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.

Schedule:

Required schedule: 8 AM - 5PM; Monday through Friday (1-Hour, unpaid lunch break) Workday starts at the job site. Emergency calls at night or on weekends may vary according to schedule.

Compensation:

$40.00 per hour, payable bi-weekly $50.00 per month cell phone allowance $600.00 per month vehicle allowance, if applicable Future performance reviews shall occur no later than 12 months after your start date. Eligible for benefits and vacation time after 90 days of continuous employment, following your start of employment, holiday & sick time.
