BM Construction LLC Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Entry-Level Carpenter to join our construction team. In this role, you will support experienced carpenters with a variety of tasks including site preparation, material handling, basic carpentry, and installation work. You will have the opportunity to develop hands-on skills, learn how to use tools and read blueprints, and gain experience in structural framing and finish work—all while helping to maintain a safe and efficient job site.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Preparation:
Clear work areas, set up safety barriers, and prepare materials for construction projects.
Material Handling:
Load, unload, store, and transport materials to and from the work area.
Basic Carpentry Support:
Assist with cutting, shaping, and assembling wood and other building materials using hand and power tools under supervision.
Installation Assistance:
Support the installation of doors, windows, framing, and other structural components.
Learning and Skill Development:
Learn new techniques and trade skills from experienced carpenters; take initiative to grow within the trade.
Reading Blueprints:
Begin developing the ability to interpret basic construction drawings and project specifications.
Safety and Tool Maintenance:
Use appropriate safety gear, maintain tools and equipment, and follow all safety procedures.
Clean-Up and Organization:
Keep the job site clean, organized, and free of debris; properly dispose of waste materials.
Team Communication:
Collaborate with team members to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Skills and Qualifications:
Familiarity with hand and power tools such as hammers, drills, saws, and measuring devices Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy materials and perform physically demanding tasks Manual dexterity and strong hand-eye coordination Detail-oriented with the ability to follow instructions precisely Team-oriented with strong communication skills Willingness to learn and grow in the carpentry trade Basic math skills for measurements and material calculations
