Carpenter

Position Overview The Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work to support concrete construction, including formwork for foundations, sitework, flatwork, slab on grade, reinforcement preparation, structural or concrete work. This role requires technical expertise, precision, and strict adherence to company safety standards, quality expectations, and operational procedures. The Carpenter works under the direction of a Foreman or Superintendent and is expected to maintain professionalism, reliability, and strong teamwork at all times. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Formwork Construction & Carpentry Build, install, align, and strip wood and metal forms for footings, slabs, walls, columns, stairs, and structural elements. Measure, cut, and assemble lumber, plywood, and form components according to plans and specifications. Install bracing, shoring, and supports to ensure form stability and safety. Verify dimensions, elevations, and layout using levels, lasers, and measuring tools. Install chamfers, reveals, blockouts, sleeves, and embedded hardware. Ensure forms are properly cleaned, oiled, and prepared for concrete placement. Concrete Support & Placement Assist with concrete placement, consolidation, and finishing as needed. Tools, Equipment & Material Handling Safely operate carpentry tools including saws, drills, grinders and any other tools needed. Maintain tools and equipment in clean, safe working condition. Load, unload, and stage materials to support efficient workflow. Safety & Compliance Follow all OSHA, state, and company safety rules without exception. Maintain clean, organized, and hazard‑free work areas. Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or near‑misses immediately. Teamwork & Communication Take direction from Foreman/Superintendent and communicate clearly with crew members. Coordinate with finishers, laborers, and equipment operators to maintain production flow. Represent the company professionally with clients, inspectors, and the public. All other duties as assigned by management. Required Qualifications Minimum 2-5 years of carpentry or concrete formwork experience. Proficiency with carpentry tools, equipment, and techniques. Ability to lift 50-100 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. Ability to work in varying weather conditions and on uneven terrain. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance. OSHA‑10 certification. Preferred Qualifications Experience with commercial or public works concrete projects. Knowledge of ADA requirements, structural tolerances, and architectural detailing. Ability to read and interpret plans, elevations, and structural details. Ability to operate small equipment such as skid steers, mixers, or compactors. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Outdoor work in heat, cold, wind, dust, and noisy environments. Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, climbing, and repetitive motion. Use of vibrating tools, power equipment, and heavy materials. Work hours may include early mornings, overtime, weekends, and occasional travel.
