Job Title:
Concrete Carpenter Job Description This role involves performing a wide range of concrete carpentry tasks, including designing and building forms, placing and finishing concrete, and installing building components such as doors, windows, stairs, and rafters. You will work on multiple sites, contribute to structural concrete work, and ensure high-quality craftsmanship while following plans, safety standards, and project schedules. Responsibilities Design and build concrete forms for footings, piers, walls, columns, slabs on grade, and elevated decks. Pour, spread, and smooth concrete using appropriate tools and finishing techniques. Perform concrete placement using pump, place, and finish methods to achieve required specifications and finishes. Install doors, including drilling and setting door hardware according to project requirements. Install windows accurately and securely in accordance with plans and specifications. Lay out stairs and common rafters using blueprints and appropriate math and layout skills. Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings to perform accurate layout and execution of work. Use appropriate math skills to measure, calculate, and verify dimensions and quantities for concrete and carpentry tasks. Perform formwork setup, adjustment, and removal safely and efficiently. Use proper signals and rigging practices when handling and placing materials and equipment. Organize, sequence, and complete assigned tasks within established schedules and timelines. Use hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment safely and effectively for concrete and carpentry work. Communicate clearly and effectively to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions. Work on multiple job sites as needed, providing assistance at different locations within the designated area. Perform general labor duties related to concrete construction and carpentry as required to support project completion. Essential Skills Minimum of five years' experience in construction, with a focus on concrete and carpentry work. Proficiency in designing and building concrete forms for various structural elements such as footings, piers, walls, columns, slabs, and elevated decks. Demonstrated experience in concrete pouring, placement, and finishing, including pump, place, and finish techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings accurately. Strong math skills to perform layout, measurements, and calculations for stairs, rafters, and concrete work. Hands-on experience with concrete construction, concrete finishing, concrete pours, and formwork. Skilled in carpentry tasks related to concrete construction, including layout and installation of structural components. Ability to install doors, drill and set door hardware, and install windows to specification. Familiarity with signals and rigging practices for safely handling materials and equipment. Proficient use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in concrete and carpentry work. Ability to effectively communicate and understand both verbal and written instructions. Capability to organize, sequence, and perform assigned tasks within established schedules. High school diploma or equivalent. Reliable transportation to travel to and from job sites. Willingness to work within a 50-mile radius of assigned locations. Ability to work in a variety of seasonal and weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with general labor tasks in construction environments. Experience in concrete construction and carpentry across different types of projects. Familiarity with construction site practices, including safe use of tools and equipment. Comfort working on multiple sites and adapting to changing project needs. Readiness to complete any required assessments during the hiring process. Interest in obtaining or maintaining OSHA 30 and Fall Protection certifications, which are supported by the employer. The role involves working on multiple construction sites within a 50-mile radius, performing concrete and carpentry tasks in a range of seasonal and weather conditions. You will regularly use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment provided by the employer, while following established safety practices and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. The setting is a hands-on, field-based construction environment that requires physical activity, attention to detail, and consistent adherence to safety standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
