As part of our growth strategy, we are developing a hands-on training facility and partnering with local trade schools to help train the next generation of skilled tradespeople. We are seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter / Construction Foreman who can lead crews, oversee construction projects, mentor apprentices, and help establish the standards that will define our company's future. Position Summary The Lead Carpenter is responsible for overseeing residential and light commercial construction projects, coordinating crews, maintaining quality standards, ensuring job-site safety, and delivering exceptional results. This position requires an experienced construction professional who can confidently lead by example, solve problems in the field, communicate effectively with customers and team members, and maintain a high level of craftsmanship. The ideal candidate is a skilled builder, strong leader, and natural mentor who takes pride in developing others. Minimum Qualifications Minimum 5 years of construction experience Roofing experience required Experience leading crews and managing job sites Knowledge of residential construction practices Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and specifications Strong understanding of construction safety standards Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift, carry, and move construction materials Strong communication and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications 10+ years of construction experience Experience in residential roofing systems Framing and structural repair experience Siding, soffit, fascia, and exterior renovation experience Window and door installation experience Material estimating and job planning experience Experience training or mentoring apprentices OSHA certifications preferred Essential Responsibilities Leadership & Project Management Lead construction crews on residential and light commercial projects Coordinate daily job-site activities Monitor project schedules and production goals Ensure work is completed to company quality standards Communicate project updates to management Construction & Roofing Perform and oversee roofing installations and repairs Execute framing, structural repairs, and exterior construction work Troubleshoot field challenges and develop solutions Verify accuracy of measurements and material usage Safety & Compliance Maintain a safe and organized work environment Enforce company safety policies and procedures Conduct job-site safety inspections Ensure compliance with applicable building codes and regulations Training & Workforce Development Mentor and train apprentices Assist in developing construction training programs Collaborate with local trade schools and workforce development partners Support hands-on training initiatives within the company's mock-up training facility Help cultivate the next generation of skilled craftsmen What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will: Lead crews with professionalism and accountability Deliver projects safely, on time, and with exceptional quality Build positive relationships with customers and team members Take ownership of project outcomes Serve as a mentor and role model for developing tradespeople Help establish Roof Masters as a premier employer and contractor in the region Physical Requirements Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to climb ladders and work at heights Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor throughout the workday Why Join Roof Masters?
