Duties Help Execute work orders and blueprints to lay out, build, and finish a variety of concrete forms and structural surfaces to project specificion. Perform masonry repairs by restoring brick, block, stone, and other structural merials to maintain the integrity and appearance of chimneys, fireplaces, walls, stues, and monuments. Deliver structural work by constructing, altering, and repairing detailed components and assemblies to ensure accure spacing and proper fitting for all finished structures. Execute roof restorion by assessing damage and repairing or replacing roofing systems which include asphalt shingles, built-up asphalt, DuraLast, sheet iron, cold-tar pitch, asbestos, and other roofing merials to ensure structural protection. Install and restore a wide range of specialized door systems by fitting, adjusting, and repairing roll-up, blast, magazine, personnel, sliding glass, closet, cabinet, safe, garage, motorized ge, and track- rolling doors to ensure smooth operion. Must complete introductory course in hazardous waste management within six months of being assigned to this position and tend annual hazardous waste management refresher course. Work requires standing, bending, stooping, considerable arm movement, and working in cramped or awkward positions. May lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Receives assistance in carrying heavier items. Working Conditions:
Works in a woodworking shop and outdoors. Exposed to a variety of weher conditions while outdoors. When working from ladders, scaffolds and manlifts there is danger of falling. There is also exposure to dust and dirt while mixing mortar and plaster while handling various masonry and plastering merials. Frequently exposed to eye, skin, nose and lung irrition from glue, bonding chemicals, vapors, splinters, and sawdust. Frequently exposed to possible cuts and serious injuries from accidents while using woodworking machines. May be required to work in asbestos contamined areas.
