Independent Contractor (Per Project) About Pineal Pineal helps people create productive, sustainable spaces through urban homesteading, gardening, and self-sufficiency projects. We design and install practical solutions that help families grow food, raise backyard chickens, and build stronger connections with nature. Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and dependable builder to work on a project-by-project basis constructing and installing custom homesteading and gardening structures. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and creating high-quality outdoor structures. Projects may include chicken coops, greenhouses, raised garden beds, composting systems, fencing, trellises, sheds, and other custom installations. Responsibilities Build and install chicken coops, greenhouses, raised beds, and other outdoor structures Read and follow project plans, sketches, and specifications Measure, cut, assemble, and finish materials accurately Ensure projects are completed safely and professionally Maintain a clean and organized work area Communicate project progress and potential issues Transport tools and materials to job sites when necessary Represent Pineal professionally when interacting with customers Qualifications Experience in carpentry, construction, handyman services, landscaping, or related trades Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Comfortable using power tools and construction equipment Reliable transportation Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds Valid driver's license preferred Experience with gardening, farming, homesteading, or outdoor projects is a plus Preferred Skills Framing and woodworking Greenhouse construction Fencing installation Irrigation systems Basic electrical or plumbing knowledge Welding or metal fabrication experience Compensation Paid per project Rates based on project scope, experience, and complexity Opportunity for ongoing work as Pineal continues to grow To Apply Please send: Pinealgardens@gmail.com A brief description of your experience Photos of relevant projects you've built Your general service area Your availability References (if available) We are looking for dependable builders who take pride in quality craftsmanship and enjoy helping people create productive, sustainable outdoor spaces.
