Wood Shop / Reel Builder responsible for constructing shipping reels, reading order specifications, performing facility maintenance, and supporting shop tool upkeep. Job Requirements Ability to read blueprints, drawings, diagrams, sketches, and verbal instructions Ability to match specifications to customer orders Experience cutting, gluing, nailing, drilling, and measuring wood Ability to take measurements and calculate material requirements Ability to inspect finished products for accuracy and quality Experience using carpentry hand and power tools, including saws, measuring tapes, levels, squares, hammers, and rulers Ability to perform basic maintenance on power tools, including sharpening and minor repairs Ability to conduct inventory checks on shop supplies such as bolts and nails Ability to follow safety guidelines Ability to maintain a neat and orderly work area Preferred Skills Experience constructing reels, crates, pallets, or other wood shipping components Experience repairing damaged racks or loom-related structures Experience performing general facility maintenance Experience replacing damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, wall coverings, or roofing materials Experience working in a manufacturing, woodworking, or maintenance environment Job Responsibilities Follow blueprints, drawings, diagrams, sketches, or verbal instructions to match customer order specifications Cut, glue, nail, drill, and measure wood to construct and assemble octagon reels used for shipping webbing Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed for reel construction Inspect completed reels to ensure accuracy and quality Perform maintenance work around the facility, including replacing damaged ceiling tile, floor tile, wall coverings, and roofing materials Use carpentry hand and power tools to complete construction and maintenance tasks Perform basic maintenance of power tools, including sharpening and repairing broken tools when needed Conduct inventory checks of bolts, nails, and related supplies Notify supervisor when supplies are running low Repair damaged or broken racks for looms Notify appropriate personnel when problems arise Follow all safety guidelines Maintain a neat and orderly work area
