Overview:
The Carpenter is responsible for the layout, installation, repairing and finishing various structures. Other duties include designing, cutting, and measuring materials according to the project requirements.
Examples of Duties/Essential Functions:
  • Cuts and shapes structures, forms, or other fixtures from wood or other materials
  • Read job tickets for instructions
  • Studies design specifications to prepare project layout
  • Accurately measure and cut appropriate material
  • Shape and cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines or power saws
  • Ensure timely and accurate performance of responsibilities
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
  • Receive and follow instructions
  • Proactively participate, offer and provide guidance and assistance to others in workflow process, procedures, projects and committees
  • Continuously maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Other duties as assigned Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Previous carpentry experience is a plus
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Work well in a team environment
  • Positive work attitude
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand long hours, use hands and wrist continuously in controlled movement
  • Ability to maintain work in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated with the initiative to learn and be trained on various types of equipment and processes
