PRIMARY PURPOSE
To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.QUALIFICATIONS

Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each person's job-related experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Construct and repair structural woodwork such as counters, cabinets, partitions, floors, doors and framework. 2. Work from blueprints, drawings and oral instruction as appropriate. 3. Use all carpentry and power tools in a safe manner. 4. Install glass in windows, doors and partitions. 5. Install and replace ceiling, floor and ceramic tile. 6. Build cabinets and other wooden items in carpentry shop, using woodworking machines, such as power saws, shaper and joiner. 7. Assist in estimating cost of repair projects in terms of material. 8. Comply with safety and hazardous laws and regulations in the performance of the job. 9. Assist in maintaining inventory control of tools and supplies. 10. Attend meetings as required or directed by supervisors. 11. Paint and spray-paint hollow metal doors with an air gun. 12. Spray acoustic indoor and outdoor ceiling and walls with a Monterrey finish. 13. Install brick and block in construction jobs. 14. Tape and float sheetrock. 15. Install suspended ceiling grits, wall angles and ceiling tile. 16. Install and remove carpet and vinyl floor tile. 17. Respond to after-hour emergency calls in the evenings and/or weekends. 18. Work outside of regular assigned work schedule to repair and/or replace needed facilities to include night and/or weekend duty as requested. 19. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards. 20. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
