The Cabinet Shop Carpenter plays a key role in the final stages of cabinet production by performing custom modifications, fabrication, and finish carpentry work. This position is responsible for ensuring cabinets are properly assembled, aligned, and prepared for delivery, with a focus on craftsmanship, accuracy, and quality. Success in this role means cabinet components are completed to specification, hardware is installed and adjusted correctly, and finished products meet quality standards prior to delivery.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform modifications and fabrication of cabinet components to meet job specifications. Install hinges, drawer slides, pulls, and other cabinet hardware. Fit and align doors and drawers to ensure proper gaps and smooth operation. Sand and prepare wood surfaces to achieve a clean, smooth carpentry finish. Inspect completed cabinets for defects, alignment, and overall quality. Perform adjustments, repairs, and detailed corrections as needed. Read and interpret shop drawings and cut lists to complete work accurately. Operate standard woodworking tools and machinery safely and effectively. Ensure all work meets shop standards and project specifications. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Other duties as assigned.Requirements:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cabinet shop or similar environment. Experience in cabinet making, millwork, or finish carpentry. Strong understanding of cabinet construction and joinery. Ability to install and adjust cabinet hardware. Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and measurements accurately. Proficiency with hand tools and power tools. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Problem-solving skills related to fit, alignment, and installation adjustments. Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Basic math skills sufficient to understand measurements, fractions, and square footage. Preferred Qualifications Experience with custom cabinetry or high-end residential work. Familiarity with soft-close hardware systems and modern cabinet components.PHYSICAL DEMANDS
