Job Title:
Mechanical Installation Technician - Paying up to $24/Hour! Job Description This role focuses on installing mechanical systems, chutes, interfaces, and related components within a large warehouse environment. You will use hand and power tools to complete detailed mechanical and electrical installations while following blueprints and standard operating procedures precisely. The position requires comfort working at heights up to 6 feet, handling both large and small parts, and performing physically demanding tasks in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities Install chutes, mechanical systems, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs) according to project specifications. Use a variety of hand and power tools to assemble, fasten, and secure mechanical and electrical components. Install wires and cables, working accurately with both large and small parts to ensure proper connections and alignment. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and standard operating procedures (SOPs), and follow them without deviation. Assemble mechanical and electrical components as part of larger systems in an industrial or warehouse setting. Perform general mechanical installation tasks, including mounting, anchoring, and aligning equipment. Carry out general labor duties such as loading, unloading, cleaning, and assisting with production and installation activities. Measure and mark materials using a tape measure to ensure precise cuts, placements, and installations. Operate basic material handling equipment, such as forklifts, when required and if qualified. Inspect completed installations for quality, accuracy, and adherence to project and safety standards. Support quality assurance activities by checking components, connections, and assemblies during and after installation. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Collaborate with advisors, contractors, and service teams on site to coordinate tasks and meet project timelines. Work safely at heights up to 6 feet, following all safety protocols and using appropriate personal protective equipment. Lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks. Adapt to a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment and complete 8-10 hour shifts, primarily on morning schedules. Essential Skills Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately. Proven experience working with a variety of hand and power tools. Mechanical aptitude and experience as a mechanical technician or in mechanical assembly. Ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and standard operating procedures without deviation. Experience installing mechanical systems, cables, and interfaces in an industrial or construction environment. Capability to stand and walk for extended periods during long shifts. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment and materials up to 50 pounds. Comfort working at heights up to 6 feet while maintaining safety awareness. Experience in general labor, installation, assembly, or production work in industrial or warehouse settings. Basic understanding of electrical components and schematics related to installations. Attention to detail and commitment to quality assurance during installation and assembly tasks. Valid identification suitable for site access and employment verification. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in construction, carpentry, or general contracting environments. Background in industrial repair, service, or maintenance work. Familiarity with warehouse operations, inventory handling, and general production processes. Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment, where permitted. Exposure to quality assurance practices in mechanical or electrical assembly. Ability to work in a team environment with contractors, advisors, and service providers. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities. Why Work Here? The schedule typically runs Monday through Friday, with some work on Saturdays, for 8-10 hours per day on a morning shift starting around 7:00 a.m., with the possibility of work before or after standard hours as needed. The role involves frequent standing, walking, lifting, and working at heights up to 6 feet. You will use hand and power tools, handle mechanical and electrical components, and operate in an industrial setting that emphasizes safety and efficiency. The dress code includes steel-toe footwear, jeans, and a work shirt, and you must have valid identification for facility access. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
