Job Description

We specialize in insurance build-backs, accessibility remodeling, high-end handyman services, and luxury remodels. We're looking for an experienced lead carpenter who can manage projects independently and deliver quality work on meaningful projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll run residential carpentry projects from start to finish. Each morning, you arrive at a job site and assess what needs to happen that day. Maybe it's a home recovering from water damage. Maybe it's a family that needs accessibility modifications so a grandparent can stay in their home. Maybe it's a luxury remodel where every detail matters. You review the plans. You coordinate with the homeowner, your team, and your supervisor. Then you get to work. Your projects vary widely. You'll frame out new walls and install blocking for grab bars. You'll build ramps with proper slope calculations. You'll hang and finish drywall, install trim and doors, and complete finish carpentry that looks professional. Throughout it all, you read blueprints, manage timelines, ensure code compliance, and keep the job site clean and safe. You'll manage a small crew—typically a journeyman and an apprentice. You delegate tasks, provide guidance, and ensure quality workmanship from your team. The work environment changes daily. Some days you're in tight crawl spaces or attics. Other days you're on ladders doing exterior trim work. You'll interact directly with clients who are often going through stressful situations. Clear, professional communication is essential. We provide paid on-the-job training for working with vulnerable populations and in hazardous restoration environments including fire, water, and pest/pathogen damaged structures.
What We Need From You:
5+ years of residential carpentry experience Strong skills in both finish carpentry and framing Project management experience - you can run jobs without constant supervision Experience managing and mentoring other carpenters Ability to work independently and problem-solve on the fly Valid Washington driver's license and reliable transportation Own professional-grade hand tools Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces Strong communication skills, especially with clients in difficult situations Willingness to pass background check
What We Offer:
$30-50/hour based on experience and demonstrated skill Premium company health plan Full-time position with steady year-round work Clear path to promotion: proven competency can lead to a salaried project manager position Most work concentrated in Thurston County, actively expanding to surrounding counties Company culture that values integrity, quality craftsmanship, and team cohesion Monthly team potlucks and pancake breakfast safety meetings Professional development opportunities This is a full-time position available for immediate start.
To Apply:
Send your resume and a brief cover letter to the email address provided in this posting. In your email, please answer these three questions: How do you work at heights? How do you work in confined spaces? How do you deal with difficult people when they are upset and feel as though they have not been taken care of? Applicants that fail to answer these questions, or fail to include a cover letter/resume will not be considered.
Pay:
$30.00 - $50.00 per hour
Benefits:
Health insurance On-the-job training
