Description We are seeking a skilled in-house carpenter to join our award-winning basement remodeling team in Madison, Wisconsin. As an in-house carpenter, you will play a key role in transforming residential spaces through high-quality craftsmanship, custom finish work, and complete basement renovation projects. Responsibilities Collaborate with project managers and design teams to bring basement renovation projects to life Complete framing, drywall, trim, finish carpentry, and general construction tasks Install custom features such as built-ins, shelving, cabinetry, and finish details Ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet Matrix quality standards Maintain and repair existing structures and fixtures when needed Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe at all times Operate hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment safely and effectively Communicate professionally with homeowners and team members throughout the project Follow all company safety procedures and jobsite protocols Requirements Minimum 5 years of carpentry experience, preferably in residential remodeling or basement finishing Ability to read and interpret blueprints, layouts, and construction plans Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment Knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and building codes Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment Excellent communication and customer service skills Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required Ability to lift materials and work in active construction environments Join Matrix Basement Finishing and help homeowners transform unused spaces into beautiful, functional living environments throughout the Madison market.
